Azlina Daud Malaysia

Dr. Azlina Daud is a Professor at the Kulliyyah of Nursing, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), and currently serves as the Deputy Dean for the Centre for Postgraduate Studies, IIUM. She is an experienced nurse academic and researcher whose work focuses on infection prevention, intravascular management, clinical research, and evidence-based nursing practice. Dr. Azlina obtained her Master’s degree in Advanced Nursing from University of Nottingham and completed her PhD at Griffith University. Her doctoral research and subsequent scholarly work have contributed to advancing nursing knowledge and improving patient safety practices, particularly in vascular access and infection prevention. She has led and contributed to numerous university, national, and industry-funded research projects and has successfully secured several competitive grants at both university and national levels. Her research collaborations extend internationally, including her role as a co-researcher in the One Million Global (OMG) Catheters Study, one of the world’s largest vascular access studies. Dr. Azlina is actively involved in postgraduate education and research mentorship. She has successfully supervised and graduated Master’s and PhD students and is currently supervising local and international postgraduate nursing students at both Master’s and doctoral levels. She is committed to nurturing future nursing researchers and promoting a strong research culture in nursing and healthcare. Her scholarly contributions include numerous publications in high-impact Web of Science and Scopus-indexed journals, including The Lancet, reflecting her ongoing commitment to advancing nursing science and evidence-based healthcare practice.
