In accordance with the EU The General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 and Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act 2010, the 12th International Congress of the Asia Pacific Society of Infection Control (APSIC 2026) recognises the importance of this and respects the privacy of all visitors to our website. We are committed to ensuring that all customer information provided to us is protected from misuse.

Collection of Personal Information

Visitors to our website need not provide any personal information about themselves to us. However, information on your Internet Protocol (IP) address, domain name, etc may get tracked by our server and be analysed for statistical purposes. However, your individual identity will remain private.

The collection of personal data, however, will be required for purchases of products through our website, registration of an account, subscription of news emails and promotions, etc. The personal data collected may include but not be limited to information concerning your name, address, birth date, identity card/passport number, gender, email address, telephone number, credit card information, personal interests, etc, where permitted by applicable law. Provision of such information is completely voluntary but if you choose not to provide the requested information, we shall not be able to process your order or send you any required information.

Purpose of Information

APSIC 2026 will only use the personal data collected for purposes of confirming and delivering your order, registration or subscription, facilitating payment of our products and services, marketing and promotion of our new products and offers, analyzing trends and statistics, and providing information about APSIC 2026.

Disclosure of Personal Data

The information we gather is not sold, given to, or otherwise shared with any third parties for commercial purposes. The personal data provided to us will be kept confidential. In connection with our business, we shall contract with companies or persons to provide third party services including credit card processing, shipping and promotional services to facilitate your dealings with us. Certain information will be provided to these companies to fulfill the business transactions.

Your personal data may also be disclosed if the disclosure is necessary for the purpose of preventing or detecting a crime, or for the purpose of investigations, or as required or authorised by or under any law or by the order of a court.

Conditions for “Ordinary” Personal Data

By registering, you agree to share the “ordinary” personal data you provide with the other delegates who will attend the meeting, to enable effective networking and business exchanges to take place, including on the official APSIC 2026 App (if developed) used for the event. Personal data on all delegates will be retained on the registration system for 3 years, for archival purposes.

  • I agree that APSIC 2026 may process my data in their event registration system, and may communicate with me via email, post, or other methods with important messages relating to this meeting.
  • I agree that APSIC 2026 may add my personal data to their CRM system, where they maintain records of the APSIC 2026-related activities of employees of APSIC 2026 member companies, of international associations, and of companies and organisations that have expressed an interest in APSIC 2026 membership or APSIC 2026s services and events. The privacy policy relating to APSIC 2026's CRM system will then apply.

A listing of all registered delegates’ names, company and country, without any contact details, will be visible to only authorised parties whilst the event is being promoted and in the password-protected “My APSIC 2026” portal. This is for the purpose of encouraging other APSIC 2026 members to register for the event. The listing will be deleted immediately after the event takes place. 

  • I agree that APSIC 2026 may share my details (name, company, and country) in a listing in the password-protected “My APSIC 2026” portal and with the Local Organising Committee (LOC).

Photography and Video Material

Pictures and videos taken at APSIC 2026 Events (including APSIC 2026 activities at tradeshows) could be reproduced in APSIC 2026 educational, news, or promotional material, whether in print, electronic, or other media, including social media and the APSIC 2026 websites.

APSIC 2026 reserves the right to crop, splice, treat, and edit any imagery or photographs taken at APSIC 2026 events. The Participant waives the right to inspect or approve the finished product, including a written or electronic copy. Additionally, all rights to royalties or other compensation arising or related to the use of the name, photograph, or biography are waived by the Participant, Participant’s agents, or employees. All photographs and video materials were taken at APSIC 2026 events and become the property of APSIC 2026. APSIC 2026-related material may not be photographed, drawn, copied, or reproduced without APSIC 2026’s written permission.

Naturally, Participants always have the right for their picture to be removed. Should you wish to have your picture or video removed, please contact us and we will take action accordingly.
