Dr. Sharifah Faridah Syed Omar is a Senior Consultant in Infectious Diseases at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre, and an Associate Professor at Universiti Malaya. She has an interest in Tropical Medicine, Emerging Diseases, Travel Medicine, HIV Medicine and Hospital Acquired infections. In addition to her academic and medical practice, she is an active member of the Malaysian Society of Infectious Diseases and Chemotherapy (MSIDC), Malaysian Society of Infection Control and Infectious Diseases (MyICID) and the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia, and the Vice President of the Malaysian Society of HIV Medicine (MASHM). Dr Sharifah has published research papers and delivered multiple lectures on infectious diseases including on dengue, COVID-19 and HIV.
