Chow Ting Soo Malaysia

Dato’ Dr Chow Ting Soo is the Head of the Infectious Disease Service within the Ministry of Health (MOH) Malaysia and serves as Consultant Physician and Infectious Disease Consultant at the Infectious Disease Unit, Hospital Pulau Pinang. She has also been the Penang State Infection Prevention and Control Coordinator since 2016. Dato’ Dr Chow has contributed extensively to national guidelines, serving on the working committees for the Clinical Practice Guidelines on HIV in pregnancy and Dengue Management. At both state and hospital levels, she has played a key role in pandemic preparedness, antimicrobial stewardship, and infection control, including her work with the hospital’s Antimicrobial Team. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dato’ Dr Chow was appointed Lead Investigator for the WHO Solidarity Trial in Malaysia. She is also actively involved in clinical research on HIV treatments and antibiotics, with publications in international peer-reviewed journals. A respected speaker, she has been invited to present at numerous local and regional scientific conferences, including the National AIDS Congress and the International Infectious Disease Forum, reflecting her leadership and expertise in infectious diseases.
