Dr Jeya Devi Coomarasamy currently serves as President of the Infusion Nurses Society (INS) Malaysia, driving the adoption of global vascular access management standards across national healthcare facilities. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Education, a Master of Science (MSc) in Human Resource Development, and a Bachelor of Nursing Science. This robust academic foundation underpins an extensive career spanning public healthcare and higher education leadership. Early in her career, she held clinical and administrative roles at hospitals within the Ministry of Health (MOH) in Malaysia and the National University of Malaysia (UKM). She also served as a Senior Nursing Officer in the Health Technology Assessment Unit of the Medical Development Division, where she made significant contributions to national clinical guideline publications and evidence-based policy formulation. Transitioning into academia, Dr Jeya Devi joined UCSI University (2007–2015), where she served as an Associate Professor in the School of Nursing. During her tenure, she led the development of the undergraduate nursing curriculum and oversaw the graduation of the university’s pioneering bachelor's degree and diploma cohorts. Beyond her institutional roles, she has held board appointments, including serving as Vice President (Education) of the Malaysian Nurses Association (MNA) and as chair of the Malaysian Infusion Nurses Special Interest Group (MINSIG). As INS Malaysia President, she routinely collaborates with medical technology companies to host national leadership summits and training programmes.
