Dr.Pamela Lee Yew Fong
Dr Pamela Lee Yew Fong is the Head of Clinical Operations at Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She holds a Medical Degree, a Master of Health Management from the University of New South Wales, Australia, and a PhD in Biomedical Sciences (Global Health) from the University of Geneva, Switzerland. She is also an0 Occupational Health Doctor and Certified Medical Impairment Assessor. Dr Lee is an internationally recognised expert in infection prevention and control (IPC), healthcare environmental hygiene, patient safety, and implementation science. She served on the World Health Organization (WHO) Technical Advisory Group for Infection Prevention and Control and has contributed as an external reviewer for several WHO guidelines and global reports. Her research focuses on behavioural change, hand hygiene, healthcare environmental hygiene, antimicrobial resistance, and sustainable healthcare practices. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in leading international journals and has been an invited speaker, moderator, and facilitator at global conferences organised by WHO, APSIC, ICPIC, SHEA, CDC, UNICEF and other international organisations. Dr Lee has received multiple international recognitions, including the SHEA International Ambassador Award, the SHEA Public Health Scholarship, and several competitive travel and presentation awards from WHO, ICPIC, APSIC, and the Hand Hygiene Validation Seminar organised by the Education Committee of the Japanese Society of Infection Prevention and Control (JSIPC). During the COVID-19 pandemic, she led large-scale hand hygiene initiatives and secured substantial support for alcohol-based hand rub distribution across Malaysia. Through her leadership in healthcare quality improvement, multidisciplinary collaboration, and evidence-based infection prevention, Dr Lee continues to advance safer, more sustainable healthcare systems in Malaysia and across the Asia-Pacific region.
