Dr. Ahneez Abdul Hameed is a Consultant Clinical Microbiologist at Hospital Selayang, Malaysia. With nearly 20 years in medical practice, including more than a decade as a Clinical Microbiologist, her work focuses on diagnostic microbiology, infection prevention and control, antimicrobial stewardship, and transplant infectious diseases. She currently serves as Secretary of the Malaysian Society of Infectious Diseases and Chemotherapy (MSIDC) and is actively involved in national guideline development, medical education, and collaborative research. While microbiology remains her professional home, Dr. Ahneez believes that a fulfilling career is built not only on expertise, but also on curiosity. She enjoys exploring ideas beyond medicine—from technology and data analytics to new ways of communicating and connecting, visual design, and digital innovation—and finds that many of the best solutions emerge where disciplines overlap. She considers herself a lifelong learner, always happy to venture outside her comfort zone in pursuit of a new skill, perspective, or unexpected rabbit hole of knowledge. She is passionate about making laboratory medicine practical, accessible, and collaborative, believing that science is at its best when it serves people. Outside the laboratory, she enjoys travel, photography, fitness, and creative pursuits that remind her there is a rich and meaningful life beyond work. She hopes to leave every project, every collaboration, and every person she meets just a little better than she found them.
